Sing Along with President Jokowi!

So last Saturday night, me and my friend were attending Synchronize Fest at JIExpo Kemayoran. It is an annual multi-genre music festival that attracts tens of thousands of audiences to share the diversity of live-music in four stages for three days, enjoying hundreds of performances from best and favorite artists of the homeland from the decade of the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. Ranging from pop, R&B, rock & roll, blues, folk, jazz, punk, heavy metal, hiphop, reggae, ska, and even dangdut also participates in this festival.

We were watching Ebiet G. Ade’s performance, he is an Indonesian singer and songwriter. His musical styles are pop, ballad and country. He has released 21 studio albums and 25 compilation album. Such a goosebumps to see the audiences (most of them are youth) were singing along with all of the songs from this legendary singer from the 70s.

The audiences were singing enthusiastically when Ebiet playing “Camelia”, but then the audiences from the back started to shout, “PAK JOKOWI!”. You read it right. Mr. President were coming to the festival!

Well, it was become more interesting when Ebiet started to play his most famous song “Berita Kepada Kawan”, all of the audiences were singing along together, and Mr. President of course…

What a night!

And I was lucky enough to handshake with Pak Jokowi. And a selfie of course! :P
